Cortex arrays have relatively short shafts. Using 50 um wire, the arrays can easily penetrate the dura. Therefore, the signals are excellent and last several months without significant attenuation. It is suitable for all areas of cortices such as the auditory, visual, sensory and motor cortexes.
Both 25 um and 50 um wires are used to make the cortex array. For high density arrays, 25 um wire is a better choice. For regular arrays, 50 um wire will give you good results.
Regular arrays use both 4x4 and 2x8 configuration with 3.0 mm shaft and 3.0 mm shoulder. Free samples for your trial are available for these arrays.
Both conventional and our modular connectors can be used to make cortex arrays. However, the free sample is only limited to conventional connectors.
